The Batture is a 10-acre stretch of green space on the banks of the Mississippi River in Uptown New Orleans. Previously a heavy industrial yard, The Batture will open this stretch of the riverfront to the community for the first time in over 150 years.
The Batture will serve as a uniquely New Orleans treasure, where families and neighbors will come together to enjoy the river that shapes the city of New Orleans. Whether it be a picnic at sunset, a meal overlooking the great lawn or a drink with friends after a bike ride on the levee, the space is an offering to the city and its people.
