The Batture will be an oasis located on the river side of the levee in Uptown, New Orleans. Currently a heavy industrial yard between Walnut and Lowerline, we will revitalize the space as an offering to the surrounding Uptown neighborhood.

This 10-acre park will center around a sprawling lawn and offer neighbors food and drink from local chefs, a market, sunsets over the river and plenty of New Orleans flora to relax under and congregate around.

Truly a green space created by locals, for locals, we hope this stretch of the Mississippi encapsulates all that is quintessential about New Orleans and gives neighbors more opportunities to gather with family and friends, take in the natural beauty of our river and enjoy offerings from local chefs and restaurants. Envisioned as a serene riverside expanse, The Batture is inspired by the adjacent beloved stretch of riverfront known as The Fly, between the Audubon Zoo and the Mississippi River.
